
What is Kappa Pi?
Kappa Pi is an Co-ed International Honorary Art Fraternity.McMurry University’s Art Department has its own chapter called Epsilon Theta, but members usually just refer to the club as “Kappa PI” .
What are the requirements to join?
You must have completed 12 semester hours of art courses,have a 3.0 GPA in art courses and a 2.0 overall GPA
What if I don’t meet the requirements but I still want to be a part of the art community at McMurry?
Students who do not meet the requirements may become
associate members with no voting rights.
How much does it cost?
The cost is $25.00 for new members and $15.00 for active members each year.
Why should I join?
You have the opportunity to graduate with honors, and it looks good on your resume for work and grad school. You are also able to meet and make friends who also share a passion for creating art.
What activities do Kappa Pi members participate in?
Members run the Gypsy Ted Gallery & Christmas Art Sale
Visit local and state wide art museums and galleries
Volunteer at local non-profit community organizations
Go camping on the river and visit the Gruene Clay Festival
Movie night, visiting artist speakers, art critiques,...
...and many exciting things to come !
When are the Meetings?
The Meetings are every Thursday @ Noon. Come Hang out and eat lunch. Mandatory meetings are every Art Walk Thursday.
What steps do I take to become a member of Kappa Pi?
Fill out the application form.
Find a Kappa Pi Officer and give them the filled out form. Or slide it under Studio R 108 at the bottom of the stairs by the elevator in the Art Building.
